CHS offers many venues for parents and patrons to check out what is happening at school. Along with this website, a monthly newsletter and school calendar is available on the web, and daily announcements are posted here. We invite and welcome you to our events.
The Curious Savage - February 27 & 28
The CHS Robotics Team traveled to Fort Smith, Arkansas to compete in the BEST Regionals against 34 other teams. After qualifying for the wild card round, the Campus Team outscored 7 other teams to advance to the semi-finals. Our team finished 14th in the robot competition. The team also received a 24.8 out of a possible 25 points for their marketing presentation and an 18.7 out of 20 for their booth presentation! Way to go Campus.
The Colt Strong/GEM 5K will be held on March 28, 2015 at the Colt Stadium. The Colt Strong/GEM 5K is a fundraiser in honor of Mr. Gary Engels, former CHS teacher and coach who exemplified what it means to be “Colt Strong”—compassionate, steadfast, and passionate about education. Student Council has set the following guidelines for selection:
*the beneficiary must be affiliated with Campus High School or USD 261
*the beneficiary must demonstrate financial need (health issues/medical bills, loss of home, etc.)
*a letter written by current CHS student or faculty explaining the need must be submitted to the Campus High School Counseling Office by February 1, 2015 (be sure to include contact information for the nominee).
The Student Council selection committee will announce the name of the selected beneficiary on February 15, 2015.
Student Council is putting together another plunging team to support the 2015 Polar Plunge for Kansas Special Olympics! If you are interested in “Freezin’ for a Reason” join the CHS Polar Plunge team by signing up with Mrs. Moree in the Counseling Office. Students and staff who join the team will need to raise $75 in their name in order to take the plunge. The Wichita Polar Plunge will be held at Watson Park on January 31, 2015.
